Goals
The introduction of R&D facilities for subjects and specialisations relevant for companies in the business location of Salzburg calls for a regionally adapted approach that concentrates on just a few subjects and the strengths in the Salzburg FTI system, and can bring disciplines and skills to critical mass by thematic bundling.
As such, Salzburg is implementing a strategy that complements the nationwide knowledge transfer programme.
This financing initiative is intended as an incentive for Salzburg research centres to better use the potential for knowledge and technology transfer in key areas relevant for the regional economy through the medium of “regional knowledge transfer centres”, and to professionalise research and transfer skills. The aim is to develop and bundle transfer skills for the application and implementation of research results from basic research as a run-up to entrepreneurial commissioned research in Salzburg.
